This , considering it’s price, really checks all of the boxes I am totally impressed with the recordings I’ve made with this mic! Mic is extremely fussy with Audacity on a Windows 7 laptop. The microphone uses the USB audio codec that is part of the operating system. Sorry, I cannot help you with AudioTechnica. I went into the advanced settings where you can select the usb mic as the input and the usb soundcard as the output. I have a daily radio program and this mic is my favorite usb mic.

My microphone is recognized, but it’s VERY quiet. If you raise the volume, the noise will get so high that the recording is trash.

I just formatted and installed Windows 8. I was fechnica the same problem in windows 8. Sign up using Email and Password. I did manage to get in contact with somebody at Audio Technica though and explained that I’m having audip issue with two AT USB mics across multiple computers, both with Windows 8. Thanks and best Regards. If we could do more at the price point, we would but if you want to record an external device via a synth you have to move up to the MOXF.

Worked great on my laptop until I updated it from Windows 7 to Windows I finally figured out asio drivers only recognise 1 usb device at a time and as i have a usb audio interface i could only select one or the other.
I’ll just keep hoping they release some updated drivers! You may use the scroll wheel which would allow you to monitor the signal in realtime directly from the microphone element.

Any other Recording Software should have a Normalize option on any audio that’s inserted into the program. None with the AT First off, I am not a professional in this field. Sound is phenomenal, though the tripod it comes with is cheaply made and will break if the microphone falls.
I was using various Blue usb mics and had loads of white noise. I cannot help you there, but both you and AudioTechnica seem to know. As a side address microphone, the ATUSB would not serve your intended application as well as a microphone designed for that application such as a front address condenser stick microphone or a shotgun microphone.
I’ll buy a regular mic instead and run it through my NI Komplete Audio 6 instead.
